PC/VDT PROGRAMMING - AUXILIARY OUTPUTS

System 2 Installation / Programming Manual
Program Aux Outputs (Option #6)
A two-door System 2 provides four general-purpose auxiliary outputs. Two of these outputs
are
C Form Auxiliary Relays, and two are voltage outputs. The Voltage Outputs are open-collector
transistors. This means that, when activated, the transistors create a “short” between their
terminal connection and System negative. The maximum current that can pass through the
Voltage Output’s transistors is 50mA.
If the Second Door was activated, any of these four outputs can be programmed to be activated
by a valid code entry, as we will discuss in Enrolling Single Users. In addition, they can be
activated from any of the time schedules or from a System event.
Selecting the Output
The VDT will display the instructions:
Enter Aux Output
1=Aux Relay 1
2=Aux Relay 2
3=Voltage Output 1
4=Voltage Output 2
Output [1]
At the Output [ 1 ] prompt, enter your selection followed by ENTER.
Output Mode
An output may be triggered by a valid code or other events which we will get to later. How it
will be triggered is what we are interested in here.
The are two modes of output activation: Momentary and Latching. In Momentary mode, the
output is activated for a programmed period of from 1 to 255 seconds. In Latching mode, the
output toggles its state. In other words, if the output is on, it turns off. Likewise, if the output
is off, it turns on.
The VDT will display the instructions:
1=Latching,2=Momentary
Output Mode [2]
At the Output Mode [ 2 ] prompt, pick the desired option followed by ENTER. If you
select Latching, you are finished, you do not need to enter a Latching Time.
Momentary Time
If you chose momentary, the VDT will display the instructions:
Enter 1 thru 255 Seconds
Momentary Time [__2]
At the Momentary Time [_ _ 2] prompt, enter your selection followed by ENTER.
You do not need to enter three digits here. A two is all that is needed to program this Port /
Door for two seconds.
